The renowned Bangladesh Civil Service examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, granting civil service jobs under the government. Each year, tens of thousands of aspirants compete for limited spots. To kick off your journey, you must execute the application process. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you apply without hassle.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To proceed with applying, visit the BPSC’s official website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the authorized portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Stay cautious from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Search for the latest BCS exam circular under the relevant section. The circular lists all essential information, such as eligibility criteria, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other critical instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Study the requirements, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The usual age limit is within the range of 21–30 years for general candidates, but age extensions may be considered for specific groups such as relatives of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the BCS Online Application Form (Form 1). Complete all essential fields, such as applicant information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Recheck for any errors. Providing false information can lead to application invalidation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a latest copyright-sized photograph (300 pixels by 300 pixels, file size below 100 kilobytes max) and your signature (with dimensions 300x80, file size below 60 kilobytes max). Ensure these follow the instructions mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After sending in your application, you will be sent a User ID. Use this ID to transfer the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the instructions provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will get a confirmation SMS with a unique transaction code. Keep this ID for future reference. Return to the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Send your application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute problems.

Print a copy of the final application form for future use, such as for getting the admit card.

By sticking to these guidelines, you can successfully apply for the BCS exam and progress towards your aspiration in the Bangladesh Civil Service. All the best!
